Frequently asked questions

Is this take-home pay?

No. The calculator shows gross amounts before taxes, benefits, retirement contributions, and other deductions.

Why does biweekly differ from twice a month?

Biweekly pay is every two weeks, which is 26 checks in a 52-week year. Twice a month is usually 24 checks. The annual salary can be the same while each check is different.

What hours and weeks should I enter?

Use the schedule you are actually paid for. 40 hours and 52 weeks is a common full-time planning assumption in the United States, not a requirement.
